Best harvesting areas?
Nobody knows? Hmmmm
The nodes change location every reset, and are server dependent. You used to be able to use orrmaps.com, but last I checked it wasn’t even close to being correct. Personally, I just run Malchor’s or Cursed Shore, from Pagga’s Waypoint west, past the Melandru statue (usually a sapling or ori ore near it), across the brige and balthazar statue, then go towards Lyssa’s Temple. From there, just kind of comb the area to Dwayna’s, and sometimes I check past the “Doric’s Shrine” poi. If you go all the way to the Grenth Statue, you’ve gone too far, there’s only ever a rich mithril node.
For Cursed Shore, your best bet is just running south from Melandru’s Temple all the way to the Mausolus Sea. Most of the nodes are in that path, or just a bit from the trail.
Ohh wow thank you for the info! Sounds good to me.
Orrmaps.com is correct a few hours after reset, but …. you need to pull down the map list (upper right hand side) for your server and use the maps created by individual players. Do not use the general sever map (the one you get when you click on your sever name from the list on the left hand side), this map seems to be a general time over view of the last few server resets so you can see a pattern develop.
What I do is go up to Frostgorge and find a few nodes for myself (without using Orrmaps) then look at newest maps and see which ones match up best with the nodes I’ve found on my own. If I find one that matches then chances are all the other nodes in Cursed Shore and Malchor’s Leap will match too. If I find that none of the maps are updated I will sometimes find them the old fashion way and make an Orrmap of my own which other can then use.
For example if you were on Crystal Desert I would point you to this map since I have verified that it’s correct: http://www.orrmaps.com/maps/13292

Yeah, I understand how that works XD.
I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt that it was about a day after reset, but still, it showed a bunch of stuff that wasn’t in-game. Frostgorge is a good map too, but it only has 2 of both saplings and ori nodes. Cursed and Malchor have at least 3
Cursed Shore and Malchor’s Leap have 5 ori and 5 wood nodes each.
I use gw2nodes.com
ONLY areas (in PvE) to have ori/ancient wood are Frostgorge Sound, Southsun Cove, Malchor’s Leap, and Cursed Shore.
I use gw2nodes.com to help with their locations.
Frostgorge and Southsun usually have 2 each of the ori/ancient nodes while Malchor’s and Cursed Shores usually have 4/5 each of each node.
And these nodes are character bound. You can do multiple runs per day with different toons. I currently do full runs with 3 toons. Nets me somewhere ~125 each ori/ancient wood a day in about an hour and a half.
External site, but fairly accurate (keep in mind that if you get put in an overflow all bets are off on locations….). Also note it takes a bit of time for update right after a game update.
Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That’s the way that lady luck dances
I have used both of the links mentioned (I’m on Eredon Terrace) and they both have made the gather much easier. Both sites support all the servers as well. The main difference is that Orr maps show more resources (all ????) to get while Nodes limits itself to wood/ ore/omniberries and various truffles.
In Cursed Shore, if you start at Shipwreck Rock WP and work north – through Meggil’s cave in Demina’s Hallows, then up the shoreline between the Shipyard and Compass Plaza, then into the Harrowed Sea – you’ll hit most of the Ori and Ancient Wood nodes even without checking gw2nodes.
