Best way to do spinal blades backpiece?
You can make shards via a mystic forge reciepe. That’s the fastest way to get the blade shards. You’ll still need to buy the reciepe to craft it off the TP, I think. I got the reciepes back during the LS… I decided to make one 2-3 months ago so I just bought the stuff off of the TP to craft it.
The only way to get shards is from the
not so secret jp,
the sprocket mining node in your home instance (can join a friend in his if you don’t have your own)
the center of the map by killing atherblades in EotM
mining/buying sprockets and promoting them in the forge

It takes a total of 925 Blade shards to create a complete Tempered Spinal Blades.
And 50 sprockets gives 10-15 blade shards.

Aetherpath in TA and the Aetherblade Fractal also have a chance to drop shards.

The watchwork mining pick can be your best friend on your journey. Mine everything you see and forge the sprockets into blade shards.

Thanks for the info! I think i might get a watchwork mining pick, and and camp 2 alts at the JP to maximize.

Any idea of how much gold it takes to craft? And which craft i need to make it? Thanks!
Unfortunately i just spent 300g on my black orange/mordrem theme so im a little low on gold(although im not against buying gems to convert to gold if its not much, no more than 10-20$ though)
I am specifically trying to get the orange version, regardless of stats if you can guide me =D(my fav color)

Good news is the Orange version is the basic ascended version. You need either Tailor, Armorsmith or Leatherworker at level 500. I think Miyani (at the mystic forge) sells the recipe needed. Just choose the profession you want and away you go. I’d recommend either Leatherworker or Armorsmith as they’re cheaper than Tailor.
If you’re buying sprockets to change into shards you’ll need a lot of cash. Sprockets lowest price is currently 2 s 64 c and you’ll need around 13 – 15 stacks (assuming you’re starting from zero) to forge the necessary amount of shards. Of course my maths could be very, very wrong (and most likely is so please feel free to fix it).

http://dulfy.net/2014/02/18/gw2-spinal-blade-backpiece/ should be very useful. As for what craft is needed, you just need 500 in either tailoring, leatherwork or armorsmith. As your character is heavy armored (if I rememeber from the other thread you made about mordrem skin) you might go with amorsmith (which also allows you to craft the tons of ingots from fine back piece to ascended)

You know that makes me sad. Im weaponsmith AND armorsmith, but crafting ingots is a part of both of those, but you only get points for 1 craft. you should get them for both realistically. I dont see the need for ws and as to be 2 different crafts at all.
Unfortunately i started WS first, so that means i need to start over as AS. kitten

Making the leather version would be cheaper, I believe. Leveling to 500 in leather would be a little under 50g right now; going 1-500 for armorsmithing would be a few gold more. And then getting/making the elonian leather squares is a good deal cheaper than getting/making the deldrimor steel ingots.

Just don’t rush it, AS and WS are VERY easy to level up with ingots because you can gather the ore everywhere, anytime you want
Leatherwork and tailor on the other hand depend on leather and cloth which drop from mobs+salvage (or TP), so they’re rarer.
Crafting my ascended light armor was a pain… whether I got the heavy one immediately (not counting the time gated craft components).
