I’ve been gone for 3 years and recently returned and I was wondering what was the best way to get Karma now a days?

Well, I often do EotM and I’m sitting on 8million karma so I guess it’s decent.

Tequatl will give you from 10K-15k karma the first time you do it each day.

Yes, that is correct. I need obsidian shards.

Having a high personal fractal level results in a ton of karma per fractal completed. There are people who farm L40 for the end-chest rewards, so it’s easy to PUG (although: they’ll expect you to be ready to speed clear it).

I personally have been converting guild commendations to obby shards as I have no use for them anymore.

I also use the HoT currency converter (can’t remember the name) and buy the obby bags when they are up.

If you’re able to do T4 fractals, you can convert the pristine fractal relics to fractal relics and then buy obby shards from the vendor.

You can also exchange excess HoT currency for obby shards. You still need karma but you can get them at essentially half the cost. If you’re buying a lot of obby shards, you may not be able to obtain enough currency to make the most of the karma that you have.

The best farm I know for obi shards is chest farming in Silverwastes.

Just do SW. I get shards all the time there from doing stuff and opening chests. Use your karma there for scouting materials.

I also recommend doing the Living World Season 3 storyline (this requires HoT), it doesn’t take long and a lot of the rewards include large amounts of karma.

The best way to farm karma quickly is to do Fractals with karma boosts on. I’ve eased back on my Fractal dailies, but before I used to hit all 3 T4 dailies along with the 2 numbered and it will give you at least 20k+ karma all-up.

But if you’re specifically after Obsidian Shards, then yes, chest farming in SW is probably a much more rewarding (monetarily speaking) process for obtaining them. I also do PvP/WvW and get some Obsidian from that, along with the Karmic Converter that I use whenever I see Large Bags of Obsidian for sale.

People also farm the molten boss fractal for karma(usually on scale 40 so you want to get you personal level to 50). That is a base of 2,400 karma and takes about 5 minutes.

When I was working on my legendary and needed karma very fast i got a karma infusion from EotM, I bought a trinket hat can be infused with this booster, I karma boosting food. I used candy canes (they are their own slot), I ate pans of angel food cake for my utility slot. I keep my karma infused trinket equipped unless I am doing fractals, then i switch it out with a fractal trinket that as agony resistance.
