Guild Wars 2

Hiya

My girlfriend is going to get a copy of GW2, and I’m going to resume playing. I’m currently on a full server (as far as I know—it’s the unofficial RP server, though I forget the name). I like it a lot and would love if she could just come to that server, but I know it took me ages to switch to it, and I don’t think server switching is free any more.

So, what are our options? Either I pay to switch to a different server, or she gets lucky and gets on mine? Which is more feasible? I understand there is a guesting feature now, but I want us to both be permanently on the same server.

Also, she is British. She’s currently in the US, and we’re buying her a US copy of the game. Will she still be on the same US server when she returns to the UK and plays from there so we can continue playing together?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice. Amazon has a deal Wednesday, so that’s when we’ll be buying and playing! Can’t wait.

US people can use EU servers and vice versa without issue, There is no Tarnished Coast EU for example. If she can get onto the server it’ll be no issue after that.

When a player chooses a server, said player will remain in it no matter if he is living in the UK, Spain, USA or any other place.
About your other question, the easiest way of course is to pay for a server transfer. Given that, you and your girlfriend could try and check during the server lowtime and see if she can log into your server. Might take a few, however, as it is not a magic formula.
