Best way to get people to come to Orr?
i followed early zergs of event chains
some of those events navigated through the middle of a zone, and ending at the exit to the next one. since all of the Orr zones look contested on the map, it seems that everyone that needed to be there is either hunkered down at [Penitent Path] or elsewhere. myself, i got my Orr exploration done while the gettin’ was good on my main character, and high-tailed it out of there before i got stuck there.
did you have any success with your guild? LA is for fractal and dungeon replacement groups, and if many players are going solo, they may turn off specific chat channels. i turned off my /m and /s channels because i do not want too be bothered when navigating the sea of Risen-somethings. maybe it’s because it is difficult for me to run through mobs while chatting.
possible changes to loot drop rates and event changes probably moved players out of the areas, but this is only my guess.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but the mobs in Orr are highly annoying. They spam Stuns/Knockdowns, and if you try to ignore them they Pull you and Immobilize you. Think you got away? Think again, you are also constantly Chilled and/or Crippled. Trying to get anywhere in Orr is an experience that can be simulated by someone taking your keyboard away from you for a short while every 10-15 seconds or so.
The only way I see Orr being popular is a total redesign of the Risen there to make them challenging end-game enemies who don’t have to resort to these cheap tricks that adds “artificial difficulty” to them.
The only reason I go there are for Omnomberries (and the occasional Exploration run of Arah) and I don’t stay any longer than I have to.
Do you even lift, bro?
Orr is not nearly as difficult as you’re trying to make it appear. I’ve taken 6 different characters through it solo with no problems except for a few skill-points that had champs on them.
It isn’t all that time-consuming to kill 1 or 2 risen which ends up clearing the path for you and once you realize that only purifiers pull you it’s super-easy to just avoid them.

While I agree with you in large part… with regard to “only purifiers pull,” the Risen Spiders would like a word with you.

Ah, true. I tend to forget about them since they’re not nearly as common as the purifiers.
It is very possible to solo Orr, but you will be moving slowly. Regardless, Orr is great fun when filled with other players, and picturing your situation brings a tear to my eye.
My advice would be to wait for Wintersday to end in about 10 days time. Reason a lot of Orr regulars (myself included) haven’t been there recently is because the Wintersday event reaches all corners of Tyria except for Orr.
Explore the other zones so long, or try a dungeon or two. Good luck!
I see. What about area’s such as “Cathedral of Eternal Radiance” ?
How do I solo area’s such as those in order to get the skill point in the center?
Also, are you sure more people will reappear after the event? After Halloween the area’s still seem somewhat deserted. :’(
Very few go there anymore since it was never all that fun of a zone and after the constant nerfs affecting the area the reasons for going there are currently slim.
They would either have to re-design the whole place to make it enjoyable, or stop the nerfing and add reasons to go there.
Thought they were pu*t*rifiers? As in putrid aka rotting?
I posted up before that Orr is very boring, and you have to leave the zone to get your daily kill variety, and got lambasted that anything else would be counter-lore. 2 maps consisting of 95% Risen, and another map with probably 40% the same? Gahhhhhhhh!
