Guild Wars 2

This is the final boss in Twilight Arbor – Aetherblade path and it is just a real pita to kill, so far I havent been able to, even with a very capable team, 2 Dungeon Masters and of course everyone lvl 80 and knowing what to do…

I think the time invested in killing this guy, even when knowing what to do, is just way too much, in the last try, while writing this, it loks like we have a better chance, of course Im dead right now and thats how I can post this

but even so, I have been now 1h30m trying to kill this one boss, and the reward will be a few of activity points and eventually the title.

I beg ArenaNet to re evaluate this boss, it is now 2hrs trying to kill it and it has not been fun, members have left and others have joined and left, this boss is just too much, at one point we had it down to about 5% health and he killed us all at once with one one hit.

I used an elementalist and Myst Form saved me a lot of times, of course the main goal is to do as much DPS as possible — ok again, got him down to very low health and one smash and we’re all dead, not even a chance for Myst Form…

sigh

After 3hrs we did it, not all the optionals because some of our members lacked the keys but at least we beat the dungeon… still not amused

and most imporant…be bersek

ps: boss is fine with full bersek guild groups , if PUGS wipe and takes hours….well….watch some guides next time and have the right gear and build

The trick with this boss is to make sure you’re regularly guiding the Aether holograms over and killing them next to him to remove the shielding. That allows your attacks to do more damage (both direct damage and conditions) and stops him using his special attack which can kill in one hit.

And of course you need to avoid the electrified floor sections.

If you just try and spam DPS you should expect to be at it for a long, long time, with at least a few wipes.

if they knew what to do, you wouldn’t need our help :P
as Danikat said, one player with a few cc skills should be dedicated to lure holograms to the boss, then kill them (pretty much the entire fight, that’s all they’ll do). also, I think the holos spawn in a pattern (counter-clockwise, if I recall…), which would help them be ready for the next one to spawn. this keeps the boss from doing their wipe-everyone-skill, and lets you kill it faster.
it’s actually one of my more favorite boss mechanics. some bosses require too much coordination (3-headed jungle wurm), some required too little (nearly every other dungeon boss), but this one is juuuuuuust right.
