Best way to make gold?
Farm in 80s maps (like Dry Top atm – many T6 crafting materials and lodestones). Don’t store the crafting materials, but sell them from time to time. It sums up quite fast to high amounts of gold.
If you want/are able to, run a few easy dungeon paths for instant extra money.
Plus, be willing to save up some gold instead of buying things you may find attractive on the first sight but not so much on the second.
Thank you, those are some good tips and I’m sure it’ll help me out
Dungeons are a good source of gold as well ; especially if you vendor all your loot
Best is hard to quantify based on player “game mode” preferences. Running Dry Top and other zones helps not only your own personal wealth, it helps the GW2 economy in general by creating material supply. Speed clearing certain Dungeon paths is a very efficient source of gold. Though gold from Dungeons is quite inflationary. So I choose not to do them personally.
Generating personal wealth in this game is basically a lottery system. Precursors suck any fun, balance, or sense of fairness, to generating personal wealth. The game is designed to get you 75% to where you want to be, then have a large grind “encourage” you into buying gems. Because the “best” or most efficient way of making gold, on a gold per hour basis, will always be buying gems. Even if you set aside $5 an hour from a job, that equals 38.46 gold per hour. I doubt anyone is consistently making that much an hour in game.
CoF paths 1 and 2 are pretty quick and easy, and AC paths 1 and 3 are not bad either. With these 4 paths you can make an easy 6 -7 a day in a short period of time.
I make most of my gold just from casual play though.

generally, you have 4 choices: fun, ease, quick, profit.
you can pick only 2 of these and the other 2 will work against you.
what combination are you looking for?
hmmm. maybe more of sliding scales? like: put each on a scale of 1-10, but the sum of all 4 is always 10 or less.

Hmm, out of those choices I would say profit and ease. But to the sliding scale I would say. Fun: 2 Ease: 2 Quick: 1 Profit: 5
easy and profit? probably champ train, EotM train, or dungeons. the daily dungeons could be more profitable than the other 2, but any subsequent runs would be less.
the next-closest thing that comes to mind would be Dry Top. I hear it gives good profit if you grind the events. But I would say it’s a little harder than the ones I mentioned. but once you learn how to get everywhere and the rotation of the events it would be easier. Also, I would say it’s more fun just because it’s new.
And last, the best way to get lots of gold is to not spend the gold you have. It may seem straight forward, but it’s hard to put into practice if you’re not used to it. What I mean: don’t buy every new thing that comes out. Pick something you want and save for it. If you’re not spending gold, your bank will grow big.
