I’ve been following the zerg in WvW and the event rewards seem to give an easy and steady flow of silver. Is there any faster/better way to make easy money? I just hit 80 and had enough gold to buy 3 Exotics, woo!

My advice,
Buy a rare set of Explores (MF gear) for cheap, rune it up with pirate or travelers runes and snag some cheap food tarts/ bars and go to orr. Find a location like Shelter/ jofast/penitant, or the robot and farm events events. Get a full 5 person group (manditory!) and you’ll make 3-4 gold an hour doing dynamic events (this assumes your selling rares and dyes on trading post, and greys/blues/and greens to the vendor).

Farming is the best way. There are tons of different locations, Cursed Shore events tend to be some of the best money in the game. Since you just hit 80 I’ll give you a link to my source of farming information in Gw2 =D

It’s my website and I have dozens of different farming guides for all levels, not all are ungodly amazing or will make you as much as the other ones but more locations = more wiggle room for becoming so bored farming the same location endlessly for dozens of hours

I think if your in a party you have a better chance of obtaining loot from corpses if all the party attack the same target, like a champion for example. Damage maybe calculated differently for parties – the more damage you do often meaning a better chance at obtaining loot. But its seems rather unfair to everyone else that contributed to killing it if they end up with nothing. It might be a design flaw or a bug. If i know a party is fighting the same target as me i might disengage from combat if its going to be a long fight and leave them to it as i usually end up with nothing for my trouble.

I make about 1.25-1.5 gold per 20 mins or so just farming nodes in Frostgorge. I don’t go out of my way to farm the far off nodes, I stick mainly to the east side. I also time-share this 20 mins between 2 80s I have so I double up the farming on that side of the map.

You probably can make that much or more doing the event suggestion above, I just find mat farming less stressing and much easier, can afk at any point, etc.

After the 20 mins I jump on an alt and work on levelling another character. Do that for about an hour, switch back to farming.

Maybe craft rares and sell globs of ecto from what you salvage out of them? You have a chance to obtain more than one ecto per salvage and not getting an ecto is relatively rare. Do it while you can since they might nerf the drop rate.

I hit 80 before I even discovered Frostgorge but perhaps I’ll be visiting there soon!

I tend to play later at night and it seems that events occur a LOT less than during the day (I compare to weekends during the day). I usually do the daily achievements every day and sometimes it’s excruciating trying to find 5 events. Everything else is easy, but events — it’s like they disappear at night!

Any nodes in particular? Or just all types of gathering in Frostgorge?

I’ve been making steady (albeit small) amounts of gold each day by farming nodes and running dynamic event chains.
I’m only lvl 42 right now, I think once I am 80 I will be able to farm high-end nodes and increase my chances at rares/exotics so my gold per hour will go up.

I compared farming in a group v solo over the past couple days. The difference is night and day. It feels like I wasted so much time farming not in a group.
