Other than dungeons, gather everything you see & salvage your drops, then sell the resulting crafting mats. Mid-tier stuff (especially cloth: cotton, linen, etc) sell very well, due to the fact most people nowadays are level 80 and so get lvl 80 drops, making it more difficult to acquire mid-range ones which are in demand for crafting.

Get to 80 and do events and chest farm at Silverwastes. I get an average 10 gold / hour with chest farm (depends on luck). Go to Edge of the Mists and collect badges of honor to buy cheap level 80 exotic gear (you also get 4-5 lvls/hour in EotM, depends on zerg). You shouldn’t waste gold on gear under lvl 80, masterwork (green) gear should be enough for leveling.

If you are under lvl 80 just make a dungeon run and buy greens

While leveling your first character, use your Karma or dungeon runs to keep yourself geared. Your coins should be saved as you’ll need a LOT of them once you get to 80.

Yeah .. especially platinum, iron , T3 and T4 wood.
Dredgehaunt Cliffs and Timberline Falls are my favourite zones for that

The T6 node farm in Orr, SSC, and FGS is great again largely because prices for ancient wood logs were manipulated causing them to rise over 2s a piece. Depending on how many toons you have, you can make 15G an hour.

Of course that could take over 6 months maybe.

Or ANet suddenly sells them again for 1 ticket .. like the chaos skins where i had
already a skin for over 2 months in the TP that was undercut each time as soon
as it was the next to sell.

clear maps to 100%. gather everything. do events. salvage everything. if you get white, light armor drops and you don’t need the mats, sell those on the trading post. they typically go for way more than merchant value (due to the salvage potential)

do dungeons, but mix them up. doing the same one over and over will get tiresome fast.

My advice is don’t worry about it. While leveling, Just use whatever gear comes your way. There’s really no need to worry to much about gear until you reach level 80.

However, if you just really want better gear before 80, instead of buying it on the trading post, do hearts in the highest level region you can handle, and then talk to the heart NPC afterwards. They sell gear for Karma. You rack up Karma pretty quickly doing Dynamic Events. So it’s an easy way to gear up as you level.

But honestly it doesn’t matter that much until you get to level 80.

I never thought I’d be focussed enough to save up 100G for the Icy Runestones need for my Legendary. Then I realised I still had my Set 1 of Minis. One day later…. hello 1400G+. :P

Get the instanced content not Soulbound/Accountbound. Keep it for a year then sell it.
