Best way to talk to friend while playing?
Mumble. Also Skype. Sometimes Teamspeak. Voice chat in general
Without voice – it takes practice but eventually you get better with typing on the go. Keybind autorun, press that button and type at the same time while running. If you’re fighting – your autoattack will still be going even if you don’t press the 1 button, gives you time to type something.
Skype and Teamspeak for me:
Skype: only real live friends and some acquaintances;
Teamspeak: non- real live people and mostly guild;
Dirtynwah has pretty much explained the most actually.
So me and a friend bought the game together to play together, and we’re having fun, but the chat function is so clumsy. You can’t coordinate attacks while attacking. You have to stop whatever you’re doing to click on the chat entry to say anything. It’s slow and leaves me making errors all over the place. I keep think I’m in chat when I’m not or vice versa.
How do you communicate with your friend while playing?
As others have said use teamspeak, but as a bandaid for now if youre in a fight itd make more sense to hit auto-run and ‘enter’ to use the chat box and then continue by taking back control with the movement keys.

You may already know these things, but here’s a few tips to make communication easier…
If you have the chat window displayed, you can just hit ENTER to start chatting — you don’t have to click it. Pressing \ will hide/show the chat window.
You can ping a location on the mini-map by holding shift while clicking. It doesn’t even have to be an object – just shift-click anywhere and your team will see a red ping symbol on their map. Hold shift while dragging on the mini-map to draw on it. Press ALT and click on the map to set a waypoint (you can’t travel to it – it just marks a location).
Press CTRL + T to mark a target for your party. Everyone else in your party can press T to select your called target.
Between drawing on the map and pinging targets, you should be able to direct your party with minimal to no typing needed. But if you really want to TALK, then Skype, TeamSpeak, etc. would be best.
If talking to only one person, Skype is ok. If you’re talking to a group, you probably want to go for Teamspeak or Mumble or something like that.
I just want to thank all of you for your suggestions! We decided to try Skype. I had thought of using it before but I worried it would use too much processing power and leave my game laggy, but it didn’t at all! It makes playing the game together much easier for us!
Thanks also for the tips about map marking! Those will definitely come in handy.
