How are people making 2k+ Gold I saw some people saying they had up to 6k gold some had over 1k gold… Yet I can barely get past 50g… I make like 5g daily maximum.

I WvW 5-8 hours daily and can’t get anywhere near those 1k+ gold…

What tricks are people using to farm so much kitten gold?

I farm high quantity mats like iron and plat, hard wood and soft wood I’ve got about 75g, so like you I don’t have a ton, but enough to buy a set of Exotic equipment when I need it.

20-25/day is about average for me.

Dungeons, fractals (for what you can salvage from the exotics), but yeah mainly dungeons. T6 farming is profitable but highly grindy and boring.

And then there’s the ascended mats. If you’re not doing ascended gear anymore or not for a while, bolts of damask and deldrimor steel are profitable. To get the linen and wool you’ll need a bit of karma and some mystic forging, but I pull 18g a day selling one of each. Silk and mithril are everywhere so it’s never been an issue getting my hands on what I need just through daily play.

TP buy low / sell high

You don’t need to play the TP to make gold in the game, but you do need to use the TP (as in, don’t sell anything to the NPC vendors – sell everything possible on the TP). Personally, the only things I do now are WvW and events in Orr. I salvage and sell everything, except rares or exotics, which I simply sell on the TP since the rate of getting ectos out of those is abysmal. You could also do the Frostgorge Sound champ train.

Some people who have thousands of gold made and sold legendaries or got lucky with precursor drops or bought the special BL weapon skins and then sat on them until they went up in price, or yes, many people play TP Wars. Heck, I’m sure some get out the credit card and buy gems to convert to gold.

Do what makes you happy and enjoy playing the game. That’s what matters most.

-Flipping high risk items, like Chaos of Lyssa Recipe for 700g profit

missing a lot on that gravy train to get anywhere near 12g. Take out AC p2, add in couple CM’s, SE p1 and another I think, all 3 COE’s and than you might get there, and thats still in the 2 hour time frame.

No I sell the loot bags directly.

I have been selling everything through TP only and yesterday made over 30g!! definitely a improvement but still would take me 2-3 months without spending a single gold to get anywhere near the costs of a legendary

Clearly the “best” route. You get your gold, ANet gets your support, everyone wins.

But in the Twilight Zone episode “The Rip Van Winkle Caper”, wasn’t gold revealed to be mass-manufactured in the future and thus not all that valuable anymore by that point?

5-8 hours of wvw a night is your problem. Unless you are running EotM (pseudo wvw). You are not going to yield a big bank roll.

Play how you like? If you don’t enjoy WvW or dungeons, then what are you doing? While those are the most consistent ways to get steady income, everything you do outside of them nets you gold as well. Everything I’ve done, I’ve done for means outside of gold. The gold was a secondary benefit. I’ve played the game ‘how I like’ since launch. I’ve never rolled in piles of gold like others, but I’ve gotten everything I’ve wanted (outside of a legendary).

10 ori ore in 20 seconds (includes loading time on SSD)
8 characters
24 servers
24 × 8 × 10 x 4s = 76.8g
24 × 8 × 20 sec = 64 min
then I believe you can get up to like 64 characters: 614g in 8.5 hours each day

As for OP: the biggest hurdle to getting lots of gold is saving it. If you don’t spend any, you will accumulate it. People with 2k+ gold have it because they don’t spend it. If you bought a legendary with that 2k gold, you wouldn’t have the gold anymore. Decide what you want: shiny gear or shiny gold.
Personally, I was using the cheapest exotics that had the stats I want for months while I saved. Only when I could afford a legendary and have it not put a big dent on ability to make more gold did I make one to use. Also, I’m not too interested in looks; I don’t even bother looking at the latest/most expensive skins – it’s not important to me.
you should also think about what you mean by ‘best’. could mean most g/hour (see rich ori farming above. Also TP trading, which requires a lot of learning first). could also mean easiest (see all the posts about champ trains). could also mean most fun (keep doing what you’re doing).

btw, a legendary should take months, so that’s ok.

No, my PvE farming which gave me 15g/h was by farming several Orr events across 3 servers. And when you hit DR, you swap characters, hence why I have 4 guardians.

you could not farm ores on different servers when you farmed it alraedy

work some extra hours, exchange the extra money for gems and convert these into gold.
That is also the way arenanet likes the most

Honestly i support the “do you’re own thing” comment. I make at least 50-60g a day while just having fun. All i do is run dungeons wvw and jp’s, and when i get a rare i save it till i have full 20 slot bag of rares then forge them to possibly make exo’s (which so far from what i’ve seen at cheepest goes for 1.6g)

WvW is a gold sink. It is not rewarding enough.

A PvE player can make make more gold in less than 30 minutes in PvE than you do in 8 hours in WvW!
