Sometimes it cannot be ignored and it is tiresome.
As we can see, some people not only in pvp, tend to whisper and block right away so you can’t respond, even if its not straight away offensive.
Wouldn’t it be better that if someone whispers us and quickly blocks us, then his/her whisper message gets deleted from our chat box the moment we are blocked? I think that could be convenient to tone down some of the toxicity that we meet with in some game modes.

Why would you need to respond to toxicity? Just ignore, block and/or report.

It’s not about responding. It’s about not seeing it in the first place.

Ah, well. I suppose that would be fine, as long as it wasn’t too difficult to implement nor caused lots of bugs.

In the meantime, one could always disable whispers, or put them in their own chat tab to be perused at a later time.

Go invisible if the occasional whisper is too distracting.

The option requested in the OP won’t solve the problem. A troll would simply send the whisper or mail and then /block before one could formulate a response.

Trash talk is the psychological component of PvP. A clever opponent uses it effectively to distract foes and the best way to defend against it is to ignore it as nonsense. Let the opponent waste their time typing while you outmaneuver them in-game.
