Bloodlust sigil - no nerf after swap?
It is not after swap, it is after un-equip
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Correct. If you swap, it stays. If you unequip the one with and equip one without, it’s gone. This hits Ele’s the hardest as they can be either ranged or melee and keep their stack but if they try to swap weapons to cope with with a changed situation, they lose their stack. Other professions, including engineers (bombs and grenades), can switch between range and melee weapons without losing the stack.
Ooh so that’s great, I don’t even mind as a guardian because I never unequip my GS, thanks for help.
Actually if you keep bloodlust on your aquatic weapons it doesn’t matter.

Huh? What do you mean by that? That if you have one on an aquatic weapon it will hold the stack for you if you unequip then equip?
Yes.
The trick is u have, for example axe and spear with bloodlust. U equip axe, then u stacking to 25, uneqiup axe and u still have the stacks cuz of rune in ur spear.

Thank you Manczurov and sorrychief for this information. I’ll do that with my ele to solve her problem.
Does this mean that I could just have it on my aquatic, zone in, jump in the water and kill 25 things, and have BL applied to my land based weapons? or do you have to have one on a land weapon as well?

Even better. You can have an on-land stacking set and then remove the stacking set to a normal set as long as you keep the same stacking sigil on an underwater weapon.
Great, eh? Expect a change to that, though.

You can only have one attribute stacking bonus at a time. The bonus is lost when you are downed, when you travel to a different zone, or *when you unequip the weapon*.
I am feeling Anet owe us some Upgrade Extractors, because of this new change I have to relocate/change ALL my characters’ weapon setups that are using a Sigil of Bloodlust. Anyone agree with me?

The only difference now is the unequip thing and as the thread already said, you can get around that by having one on an underwater weapon.

This will probably be fixed soon though…maybe. And NO. Anet does not ‘owe’ you anything if you were abusing an oversight in a game mechanic. In fact, it is an exploit, and, according to the TOS, they can ban you, so you might just wanna chillax before you submit a ticket or go all ‘entitled’ on them. best wishes

Ain’t gonna waste any more gold or effort to put one on underwater weapon seems it looks like a bug that will be fixed.
Exploit? Never seen this being mentioned in the official wiki therefore I wasn’t aware, always thought that this is a intended mechanism. If I know this is gonna get fixed I would use Sigil of Force/Strength instead…
“The bonus is lost… when you unequip the weapon” has this description been there the whole time? If so I got nothing to hold against Anet then.

You don’t need to waste any gold tbh. A trick i used, since I already had 2x bloodlust on my stacking weps before the patch, just use Mystic Kit on them to salvage the sigil, then use it on another one. I did this 3 times on two alts, was basically a 100% salvage chance.

Actually the Mystic Kit has 80% salvage success for components.
You may be feeling lucky, but I’d prefer the 100% chance of a Black Lion kit.
Also, some items can’t be salvaged at all, ie if you bought your wep with karma or badges.
One thing I noticed about Bloodlust right after the 15/4 patch (haven’t tested since the two subsequent fixes):
- if I don’t get the full 25 stack (say 15) then remove the mainhand Bloodlust but keep another Bloodlust wep (eg in offhand), I kept whatever stacks I’d generated but no new stacks develop.
- if I don’t get the full 25 stack (say 15) then remove the mainhand Bloodlust but keep another Bloodlust wep (eg in offhand), I kept whatever stacks I’d generated but no new stacks develop.
This is because sigils no longer stack. So the game takes whatever sigil applied a stack first. We can’t ‘double stack’ anymore, I’m sure you’ve noticed. You’re wasting a sigil if you have two of any type, of any tier, equipped on the same weapon set.
Sorry for the bump, but:
Did this trick finally get nerfed or am I just too stupid to use it?
Nerfed.

You can still stack underwater and use the stacks on land, but the stacks will be lost if you switch any weapons whatsoever.
