Guild Wars 2

I am really interested in making a group support character, primarily through granting boons to groupmates. Is Guardian where I want to be for this? I feel like it is, but I can’t seem to find the right setup. Would another class give me what I want?

My main is a guardian using hammer + mace/shield, and all utilities are shouts. Throw in liberal use of virtues and you’re constantly buffing yourself and the group. There are other professions with the potential to be strong support, but not many if any that can top guardian if you go all out.

Guardian, mesmer, and warrior all have group oriented boon skills on pretty equal footing. Engineer is a maybe. You can load up on elixirs and throw them to the group with your toolbelt. Haven’t tried this setup in a while, personally, so I can’t speak to the effectiveness.

Edit: forgot to mention, Ele can put out some pretty decent boon/support buffs as well.

i play a Guardian myself and have just put together a boon duration / healing set.
do remember to check out the appropriate runes as well as food in addition to your traits / skill set up! : )) it can be quite fun.
