I got a question for boon duration. not sure if anyone know the correct answer to this.

I’m running 2 monk and 2 water rune which gives me 15% boon duration each. total for 30%.

My question is, say i have a spells that is normally 3 sec long. with the 30% boon duration my spell should be at 3.9sec duration now. correct?

1) does my duration round up to 4sec? what i read all boon duration get rounded up to the nearest second…..if yes this lead to my second question

2) is their a point of getting a 30% boon duration if it’s rounded up to the nearest second? example: instead of 30% i get only 15% which brings my 3sec to 3.45sec which is rounded to 4sec? so that extra 15% is meaningless right? would it be better to spend my slot space on other rune?

the reason i’m asking this is I am wearing 2 monk 15% and 2 water 15% and 2 sup rune of earth 15%. My protection last 3 sec with no boon duration but with all the boon duration on i am only getting 4sec on the protection.

overall….should i just get only enough duration boon to round up to the nearest second or is their a point to be keeping my duration % as is? cuz from what I tested in heart of the mist with out my one of the set rune I run the duration seem to be the same.

I dont think it really gets rounded, the problem is that you can only see seconds in the duration, but some times even if you see 4s left it might be less, cant really tell.

I can clarify some things, the duration of a boon is rounded to the nearest quarter of a second. I found this out while leveling my elementalist and watching the duration of boons that Glyph of Harmony grants as I added points into the Arcana trait line.

So for example:
3% boon duration makes a 10 second might actually last 10 & 1/4 seconds.

You can take an elementalist into pvp land and watch this effect as you put more and more points into the Arcana trait line and hover how the skill to show the tool tip for the boon information.
