Q:

Something I haven’t understood fully, in regards to combo fields and the effects these give. I play an elementalist and love might stacking for my allies, does the might stack they get come from my total boon duration or does it come from their boon duration.

Say i have 100% boon duration and they only have 30%. Would they get any boon duration from combo’s?

Since you are the source of the boon it comes from your duration I believe (also if they’re wearing modifiers then that would further add to the overall duration)

Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong but this is my understanding of it

No, that’s not true, might stack on intensity, not on duration. So, every stack of might has its own duration and will expire accordingly.

Example: as a Guardian i can stack might with:
- Empower (8s)
- Save Yourselves (10s)
- Empowering Might (5s)

and all of them will expire at their duration even if stacked.

Oh dear lord how did I forget about the Might boon – when I’m a Guardian too? LOL

My brain = fried. Yes might stacks intensity.

I think he means who’s +boon duration stat is taken into account when applying boons to someone else.

Eg. You have +60% boon duration and a further +20% for might, when you apply might on someone with +30% boon duration – do they get an 80% duration increase or 30%.

Is the boon source that modifies them, not the target. i.e. Your boons have a +30% duration, regardless if they’re applied to you or other people.

Source: Wiki

Boon Duration, also known as Concentration, is a secondary attribute that improves the duration of all boons applied by the character. It is measured as a percentage

In regards of Combo Fields, from wiki:

When applicable, the stats of the character that activated the finisher are used to calculate the combo effects.

I’m honestly not sure about the answer to the +Boon Duration question. However I have encountered similar questions as a Venom buff sharing Thief, so I’ll share what I’ve learned about AoE buffs and how they seem to work.

1) If you’re creating an AoE healing effect, then it seems to use your (aka the caster) +Healing value. (This even applies to the Venom proc heals that are granted by the Leeching Venom trait.)

2) If you’re grants an AoE buff which lets the buff receiver do damage, then it seems to use the receiving player’s +Stats as applicable. (This applies to the Spider’s Venom buff, which uses the +Condition of the receiving player to calculate the Poison damage. It’s my understanding that the damage of the Retaliation boon is also based on the +Power of the receiving player.)

3) EDIT: It appears that my conjecture about +Duration effects has been answered by the post above mine.

We are Test Group F. (Don’t ask about what happened to the previous Test Groups.)
