Bug? Help! Candy Corn Node.
You’ll only get one node, not two, if you buy both. The second upgrades the first to a rich node. Did you use them while in the Home instance? It won’t appear until you leave and go back in.
I have gone in and out of the instance, it’s been 2 days since I used them and I only have wintersday tree.
You can contact the CS Team via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ‘Submit a Request’ for assistance.
Have you tried taking your character(s) into each and every Home Instance? Maybe you just haven’t found the node.
I find Rata Sum to be the easiest Home Instance to find stuff.
I prefer The Grove. Not only are most things close, it’s instant travel to the bank, etc.
For mining Candy Corn, it’s directly in front of the entrance in The Grove. In Divinity’s Reach, the Candy Corn is directly to the right of the entrance.
I’ve not used the others enough, save the Black Citadel, to say.
I think the nodes appear right by the entrance in all the home instances.
- In Rata Sum they’re on your left as you come in, in a row along the cliff edge.
- In The Grove they’re directly in front of you, on the ground floor of the house.
- In Divinity’s Reach they’re in front of the Orphanage on the right.
- In Hoelbrak they’re on the far left side, against the wall.
- In The Black Citadel they’re on the right in the Ash Legion compound.
(This is based on the Candy Corn, Watchwork Sprocket and Quartz nodes, I’m not sure if the normal crafting material ones are in the same place.)
Importantly none of them are close to the Wintersday tree so if you’re going to the tree and then looking around that would be why you can’t find them. But they show up on the map with the same symbol as normal gathering nodes out in the world so you could use that to find them.
Once they’re unlocked you should be able to find them on any character in any home instance. For example I unlocked them on my human, then logged into my Norn and went to Rata Sum and the nodes were there. So there’s no need to worry about going to the wrong instance.

Tldr: the king node is an upgrade for the existing node.
If you had a node its now a 6tick node. If you did not.. youre in a unique position where you used an upgrade on an item you didnt have yet
OP stated he/she acquired both^.
Did you find them, OP?
I wonder what happens if the person uses the upgrade node before using the initial node. Would that cause it to bug and not appear? If that’s what happened the OP might need to contact support.
ANet may give it to you.
Phew ok, I submited a support ticket the same day I posted this so hopefully they can help, still no reply.
But yes, I used them one after the other in Lion’s Arch. (Normal, then greater). I’ve checked in every city with different characters and no dice, I was told there would be a mining icon on the minimap but there is no such icon, I only have the Wintersday Tree and all the other basic icons that have always been there.
The Candy node is my second node, the first one being the wintersday tree.
I wonder if the problem is that you didn’t go into a home instance after applying the base node but before applying the upgrade. I mean, that shouldn’t happen, but maaaaybe they need to be “activated” by visiting a home instance before the game checks off that you have the node?
Not to change the intent of the thread, but, Has anyone noticed an actual doubling of candy corn collected? It’s only been 4 days on 2 different accounts but all I have seen from the second mining attempt is 6 more. No more or less in 8 tries.
Anyone getting more than 6?
Yes, I get more than six.
I believe the nodes in your home instance can be affected by things like WvW bonuses and boosters that affect gathering.
So the node itself has the chance to give up to 24 pieces of candy corn but you might get more if you have any effects which can give extra gathering rewards.

When you get a daily gather in a region like Kryta, the using home instance nodes will count toward the daily. Just like synthesizer nodes in your Guild Halls count tower “Heart of Maguma” daily gather.
Candy Corn counts as “ore”.
