Hello lovely Guild Wars community,

SO Im looking for a bit of advice, Im basically building my first proper gaming PC with a average/fair budget. Im not expecting to use 3 monitors and 4k graphics bla bla bla (far too complicated for me).

Id just really like the PC to be able to handle this game without any issues/ performance lag/unbearable FPS…you get the picture. Here is what I’ve put together….any thoughts?

OS: Windows 7 Professional
CPU: i5 4590
Mother board: Asus z97-k
GPU: GTX 960
PSU: Corsair vs650 PSU
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2×4gb
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 120GB

Im also getting a 1TB hard drive for all the other stuff but GW2 will hopefully go on the SSD.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated and go easy on me, Im out my element here.

Off hand it looks fine. Just remember it’s not designed for nVidia SLi and AMD Crossfire is only x16/x4. If you never going to double up video cards, not an issue.

I know you are looking at the i5-4590 so OCing it is rather limited but if you ever go to a -K overclockable CPU, the 4 phase power regulator for the CPU will limit your overclockability. Again if it’s not something you are looking to do in the future, not an issue.

You don’t list RAM speed. I would go with either DDR3-1600 or -1866.

We are heroes. This is what we do!

Looks fine for me too. Shouldn’t have a problem playing GW2 and other games with it. You should also get a good gaming mouse, makes a lot of difference in my personal expierece.

With that rig and the non K series Cpu i would go ASUS H81-GAMER, LGA1150, Intel H81 Chipset, ATX and save a few bucks. then id add that cash to the GPU and push for a AMD R9 380 ( 4GB model ) The cash you save on the board will allow this and you get better performance for your money. You dont need to overclock. Go look at the old Bf 3 and Bf 4 benchmarks the FPs between an I3 and a top of the range I7 was less than 5 frames . Make sure your ram is 1600mhz ram .
