Somehow several very basic ingredients disappeared from the vendors. I suppose they are now to be gathered?

Edit: found out that black peppercorn now is to be gathered and buttersticks are for sale quite cheap on the auction house.

If you kill mobs that drop loot bags (like bandits, centaurs, etc.) you quickly get more butter, chocolate, pepper, etc. than you will probably ever use. So now you don’t need karma for these easy-to-get items. It didn’t really have any effect on the leveling process if you are crafting in between adventuring. It only made it a bit more difficult to just power level cooking.

Have you checked the trading post? I haven’t looked in the last 10 hours or so but last time I did look it was absolutely flooded with these items, making them very cheap, because they’re dropping far more than anyone can use.

I had no butter at all before they changed it, since then I’ve managed to play about 3-4 hours and spent most of it exploring and I’ve got 70+ sticks.
