Buying vs Crafting
Buying the items premade. 99.9% of the time, the item is cheaper.
If you’d like me to do all the math for you, I need to know if you’re looking for heavy, medium or light of the clerics. I’m also assuming you have your crafting profession up to 400 already. It will probably be faster and easier to just buy your new gear, but on exotics it can sometimes be a bit cheaper to craft rather than buy straight up, but not by a huge margin.
Also I’m pretty sure the wiki has the crafting recipes, so you can check those out there.
It’s generally cheaper to just buy the things. Like SuLor said, even for exotics you’d only be saving a small bit of gold by crafting if anything really.
definitely buy.
you either keep the mats for legendary, or you sell the mats.
I like being able to make anything I need. Especially exotics for my 80’s.

Thanks for the all the speedy responses.
I am looking to field test the Ranger Bunker/Pet build. Personally, I’d use Apothecary, but the trinkets are ridiculously expensive and it neuters my direct damage.
I’d also like to point out that I don’t plan on crafting them myself, I have a friend with maxed crafting. I do have some mats though, just not sure if any of them are what I need, totems/sapphires I think are what’s used for clerics.
Also, if you’re super poor, you can check out

To find out which armor you want that is available from Dungeons (if possible).
That will make it take a tad longer, but will grant you gold AND gear for practically free.
what about those who are down at the lower levels like 25 or 40 crafting skills is it still cheaper to buy the materails as new player or should we stick to crafting and gathering?????
