Q:
Can I do the same event over and over again if I want to?
A:
I always ran between the different events at the meta event with the centaurs northwest in Gendarran Fields. And I think Bloodtide Coast was it? or Sparkfly Fen? There was some metaevent with hyleks with a main camp to defend and 3 smaller camps around it. Always runnig between the 3 of them possible and a lot of drops and always one attacked.
Also I heard from some guy at one forums where they do research on legendaries and need lots of karma that he is running around in orr and looking at contested waypoints to look for events and only killing one mob and then running to the next event. Seems pretty effective – he said he reaches a max karma bot prevention or something like that. Never heard of it but probably theres is something that then is blocking him from getting more karma because he is too fast which they use against bots.
I think everything is okay since you are still playing and contributing to the event(and thereby helped to make it easier for other players that also try that event).
Only question I had myself was about engineer’s turrets. With a lot of people nearby they can stay alive long and you can go elsewhere. If there is an event pretty often… colud be exploiting. I did it a long time ago but only to try a bit and not anymore and I always had been at the computer not afk but a bit more far away from tower at other event..
As long as you are not afk and trying to abuse something like turrets I think it is okay. And they probably know people are farming like this. There is no way they can’t know. And since they did not do anything I think it is allowed.
Grinding a single event is fine. Standing in front of a bridge with a large group of people and setting a macro to spam auto-attack to defend the bridge against a particular event whenever it pops up, then going off to eat snacks and whatever isn’t.
Thank you for the replies. You’ve both answered my question and I can go back to running around that field like a mad woman, setting fire to centaurs and endlessly escorting a guy to pick up some armor.
