My Girlfriend and I started on a server and unbeknown to us, had friends of ours playing the game in real life on another server. I now want to buy gems so we can get switched over to the other server and I want to gift her the gems so she doesn’t have to purchase them (nice guy huh?). Is it possible to do this?

U dont have to get gem to go to their server u can just guest over for free for 24 hrs. They let u guest to 2 server per 24 hrs. So if u wanna play with your friends then just guest. Otherwise if u guys are trying to WvW together then u have to be in the same server.

No, guild is cross server

But if u are doing guild missions then u will have to be in the same server

Let’s just say I wanted to gift my girlfriend gems in the future for a bday present or something, is this allowable anyway?

U can buy gem cards from retail store and give it to her. U cant gift her gems Iin game.

1. You can’t gift gems directly, but you could buy her a gem card, or give her the money in real life. Or she could let you in to her account to buy the gems on your card.

For most people I wouldn’t recommend any of those, but I assume you live at least close to each other so giving something in real life isn’t an issue and she could log in, then let you on the computer to buy the gems while she’s there so the trust/security issues that would normally come up with letting someone else on your account aren’t an issue either.

2. You may not need to transfer at all. You can do everything except WvW while guesting on another server so you can play with your friends that way. The only downside to being in the same guild is that guild unlocks are unique to a server, so you won’t have access to the same guild bank etc. as they do.

3. Alternatively if you’re willing to you can delete all your characters (put anything you want to keep in the bank first) and then you’ll be able to transfer for free.

Since in this case you clearly know her, like her, and want to give her gems, and presumably she knows and likes you and wants to receive them, you could buy gem cards, scratch them off, and tell her the code. That would save you having to physically get the cards to her.

If you’re trying to buy them with gold rather than real cash, again it goes to trusting her as you seem to. You could give her the gold in game.

And if we are talking future gifts, if you know what it is she wants to buy with the gems, many gem shop items are giftable outright, so you could save the gem buying step and just get her the item(s) she desires.

Gifting is possible with items on the gem store now. Just click the little orange box. As for actual gems I think you’re sol.
