Can a server be full?

I have a new player that wants to join our guild. While they are already L6 on another server they wanted to join Sea of Sorrows to contribute to our guild.

They have no problem deleting there character to start again, but told me that SOS was full. I am not sure if they just tried to guest SOS or tried to start a new character here. And if they tried to start a new character not sure if they deleted the old one before trying to switch servers. They are confused so it is difficult to help them.

My question is. How do I find out if a server will not let a new player Join?

Thanks

Servers definitely can be full. You can check by going to the character select screen, clicking World Selection (in the bottom left corner) and scrolling down to find your server. (Incidentally I just checked and Sea of Sorrows is full.)

Having said that the only thing they cannot do if they’re on a different server is play WvW with you. Guilds are region-wide now, so anyone on any NA server can join your guild, and will have full access to all the upgrades, guild missions etc. and can contribute influence.

Go to the character select screen. Click on “World Selection” (bottom left corner). That will bring up the list of worlds. If a world says “Full”, that means it’s full and you won’t be able to transfer to that world.
