So the past month ive been kind of upset with this game. heres the confusing part I love it but something is keeping me from playing it everytime i log on im on for 5 minutes before i logg back out and dont touch it for 2-3 days and its said becuase 1)my mom isnt the rich lady who can get me whatever i want so this was a special gift becuase she knows how much i love this game. 2)I dont know why but i wanna just uninstall it but im love it at the same time. 3)Could it be that i still done know which class to main becuase everytime i make a new char after the tutotrial area i just log out and delete it and start on my new char. So any kind of advice would be helpful ty in advance (Btw im 15 so sorry for the bad grammer or stupid questions)

I don’t think there’s a problem with the game. No offense, but maybe you get bored easily?

Have you thought that maybe you are in a burnout stage of gaming or MMOs in general?

I remember when I first started Rift during it’s Beta. I was so excited to try it out the first time, but once it released and I hit around level 30, I didn’t want to log in anymore. I loved the game though, but I just couldn’t bring myself to play it.

Came to realize my issue was not with Rift, but with MMOs in general. I had been doing nothing but playing MMO after MMO with nothing else in between. Just straight up burned myself out on MMOs, so when one came out that I was waiting to play, I wasn’t that excited about it cause of burnout.

Maybe take a long break for a bit from either gaming (if you are a heavy gamer) or from MMOs in general? If it’s MMOs, try a different game all together. Something away from the multiplayer aspect and fantasy aspect. If it’s gaming in general, go do something that doesn’t involve your computer at all. Read a book, paint a picture, learn an instrument, etc.

That is the only thing I can think of what could be causing it. You say you love the game but can’t play past the tutorial. It just seems like burnout to me. Try taking a break for a bit. See if it helps.

“Btw im 15 so sorry for the bad grammer or stupid questions”

15 is old enough to communicate like an intelligent person. Unless english isn’t your first language. In that case I would say you’re doing fine.

As to your question, Try playing a character or two until like 30 when you get your elite. This will give you some traits and skills to play with and let you get a much better feel for the class and how to play the game.

I was going to say that each class takes a while to get a feel for, and although playing to level 11 will mean you start getting trait points (and can think about doing some more interesting things with your character), more levels will always lead to a better understanding of what you can do. Before level ten or so, every character’s going to be fairly basic and straightforward – and the more you play the tutorial stuff, the more it will bore you, making things worse!

However, SpyderArachnid’s advice about possible being burned out is also something to consider. Remember, Guild Wars 2 is a one-time purchase; you’ve got it now, it will wait for you. If you leave it now and come back in a few months, there’ll be changes made and new stuff, and you can see how you feel then. Nothing lost by waiting!

Burnout seems the likely cause. Every gamer gets it no matter what. MMOs seem to be the most brutal though, as they end up being time vampires for a long time, and the burnout is much more severe.

Personally the last MMO i used to play was WoW, and I had done since the end of vanilla up untill about mid way through Cata. Did A LOT of PVP, got gladiator a fair few times. Then BAM, complete MMO burnout for quite a while. This is the first one I have touched since then and I only play a few hours a day then not again for a few days.

Yeah it is most likely gaming burnout I think. I know I have experienced it in the past, even with games I really really love. I have come a long way since the days of Star Wars Galaxies back in 2003 (or going even further back, Everquest). I have played a lot of MMORPGs, with this one being my main one for the foreseeable future.

That being said, I would be lying if I said I don’t get burned out from time to time and just do not log in. But that is why they invented real life! When I am not playing GW2, or anything else, I play the bass guitar in a rock band here in Pittsburgh, PA. It gives me a lot of satisfaction that I cannot get from gaming, as much as I love gaming.

Be glad for one thing… there is no subscription fee. Even if you decided to give gaming a little rest and do other things in life, your characters will still be here, and you know ArenaNet will add a lot of new content over the months, so you will not be missing much, and you will have plenty to do if you take a break and come back.

My grandmother used to always tell me “Too much of one thing, is good for nothing.”

One other thing. DON’T delete your characters. You never know when you might log one in that you have not played in a long time, and find that you really like it again. I have 9 of them (I paid for extras), but it ensures that I have one of each race and profession, and I can explore the world from different points of view, thus always giving me something to do! Even if you only have the standard 5 characters, you can easily have one of each race and see how different each area is.

Overall, try to remember WHY this is fun for you. Sometimes we as humans can forget that, and that leads to burnout.

Good luck to you!

maybe watch some youtube videos on players with different professions, see which one has skills you like. each is better at certain things, what would you like to do in-game?

You need to find activities within that game that you enjoy doing. Have you tried joining a group/guild with friends or others?

As for which character to choose – try and find things that you have in common or you aspire to be (want to become, hero for example). Role playing games are a fantasy and people create their characters based on what they would want to be. Use that and orient your gameplay around this. It might help you be more motivated, otherwise, sadly this might not be the game for you.

I have to 2nd what this guy says. I had a hard time playing for more than an hour or so but I did find a great guild and now I totally love just helping others and doing things with either a person or two or a group of people.

Just yesterday we did a full zone clear – took a few hours but it was great – people helping people.

Maybe that might be it?

Guilds are amazing at getting you to log on My guild is my home inside the game and I love all the members xD I’m glad you found a great guild.

On a side note, if you’re still having trouble on testing a class on full potential without having to level up, try bringing the class into spvp. You automatically get level 80 and access to all traits and skills and any weapon set you want. Great way to learn a new class
