Hello, I would like Opinions on both Warrior and Guardian
I can’t decide which to have for my last slot, anyone with experience in both classes wanna share what they feel about both?

Also some pro’s and con’s would be helpful in my decision making!

I have a level 70 guardian… those things are OP!

I can easily do a group event by myself, but it takes ages to finish due to the low damage output compared with other classes. If you like being able to take damage and still stand, the healing options and damage mitigation skills a guardian offers is outstanding.

As for warrior, I have a few guildies who have chosen that profession. The damage they do is insane. I can’t even compare with the crits they pull of! However, there must be a downside of which I am not aware. They might be more squishy or less able to heal, I don’t quite know.

Hmm that’s interesting

To get an idea on the different classes/professions, I’ve played all of them up to at least level 10. Most of them got deleted so I could create a new character after learning from mistakes the first time around. (but it helped me farm up a lot of crafting mats…)

I kept my warrior because it was fun to use all the different attacks with the various weapon types. Warriors seem very flashy and exciting to play and the DPS is really good.

That said, I kind of miss my guardian and I want to go back and give it another try. As Dabbaba said, the guardian seemed like a very survivable class with good healing potential and good DPS (not great DPS, but not too shabby). I’m not sure if I’m going to have to buy another character slot for my guardian or get rid of my lowbies to make room, though.

I have one of each, though not mains so they are low level, and I like them both at this point and am playing them a little differently (I guess that’s obvious). I do like the Guardian a little more but in past MMOs I tend to role the Paladin types for a main. The Thief is my main in GW2.

I only tested Warrior/Guardian in PVP.

I’ve played at least 10 matches with each class. Enough to get a brief feel.

Warrior -

I was really impressed by the rifle damage. I didn’t think it would rival the Ranger (my main) but that sniper shot is just… wow… insane overall.

Melee Weapons are of course, nice and strong. I had a lot of fun with dual axes but I got to say, the Hammer sticks a smile to my face. Still, overall, I was playing around with the Greatsword and Sword/Axe combo at times.

Warrior hurts and I’ve seen much more advance players than me doing some amazing stuff and holding off a group by themselves. I myself, I only did something that could be considered average. I didn’t outshine my group at any point but I was never the handicap either. Compared to my Guardian/Ranger, Warrior is the class that I’ve lost the most battles. The heals on the warrior are really minimal and in some cases, not enough to heal a serious DOT.

Guardian -

Guardian is right now on my list of becoming my second main char. A battle between the fun and complicated Elementalist and smooth ride Guardian. Now, don’t get me wrong, Guardian is actually a complicated class and it took me a certain amount of time to get used to it. The Guardian is a killing machine with good heals, decent support skills, great damage and it just doesn’t die. I do not feel that it’s Overpowered but it is indeed one of the most well rounded class.

The guardian forgives noobs like me. From game 1, I’ve been doing great to amazing. I actually rarely die with this character (unless caugh off guard or alone) – But as long as my team is up and I’m with them, I will live the day. It’s almost a no brainer. What I find fun about the Guardian is the Damage/Support role you have. You need to help your team and take care of them but at the same time, you can jump in and dish out some serious damage.

So that’s my short overview on both class. Don’t get me wrong, I like Warrior but I much prefer Guardian. Still, my main remains Ranger

I have a level 80 warrior and i can tell you too not play a melee class at all until/if they ever balance the game where melee is viable be it for pvp or pve. I have scrapped my war for an engineer, thanks for wasting my time arenanet……
