My lvl 9 character can see potatoes on minimap but will not let me harvest with my copper sickle. I am able to harvest other things like blueberries. What am I missing?

Look up. They are in a garden above you.

You might need to use a higher level gathering sickle. As you get to higher level nodes, the gathering, mining, and logging tools need to be upgraded. You can buy these from the “General” merchants.

Ok, though it says in the description of the copper sickle that it can harvest potatoes. Perhaps this is an error?

What kind of error message are you getting? If it is a “no gathering tool equipped”, even though you did equip one, you may have used it all up and need to get a new one. This is probably something you already know, but I thought I’d mention it just in case. I remember the first time I got that message I thought it was an error, because I hadn’t noticed that you “use up” gathering tools each time you gather! xD

And yes, you should be able to harvest potatoes with the copper tool, I have done so multiple times.

Yes, as harumph has pointed out, there must be something wrong with the location at which you’re working. As long as you have gathering tools equipped (and at level 9 the beginner tools should be fine), you should be able to gather any crop-type item that you encounter.

This game doesn’t require that you attain a certain level to harvest an ore, wood or foodstuff node, it just requires you to equip the appropriate level tools, else you might get damaged goods when you harvest. You will need to buy the next level of gathering tools when you reach level 10.
