Guild Wars 2

Iv’e really been wanting to get into gw2 and reach level 80 on a character, but every time that I go to do that I can never decide which race or profession I should be and then continuously reroll until I get bored.

Is there any advice on what I should do / what proffesions are the most fun?

Most fun profession is dependent on the person, everyone’s definition of fun differs. Personally I find the Guardian and Engi fun, while the Thief and Warrior boring. Really the best thing to do is use up your 5 char slots trying out professions and pick the one you like best.

In regards to race, it isn’t really important, go with the one you like the look of the best.

Yeah, always subjective. While I love the idea of norn and charr, I don’t like the over-sized models and the bouncy charr animation makes me motion sick. So now I stick with mostly humans plus a few asura and sylvari.

I play all professions and the two I care for the least are Mesmer and Necromancer. If minions were viable, then I’d love to play necro. Those two are the last to be leveled up, and it’s happening slowly, so maybe once they reach 80 my opinion will change.

My favorites are Guardian > Engineer > Warrior = Ranger = Thief > Elementalist

Things do change once they are maxed. If you are rerolling before you get to 80, then you may be too hasty in deciding if they are good or not. Take BrooksP’s advice and don’t delete, just try another for a while, rinse and repeat. I don’t have a “main” (other than Guardian being the best equipped) and switch around constantly. That helps me to not get bored with one set of skills or play style.

It’s… kind of scary how close that survey came for me. I’ve long had all classes at 80 now, but mesmer has been my main through almost all of that, which took the top. Thief was higher than I’d think, but guard and ele were right below that. Warrior and ranger were at the bottom, and they were the last 2 I leveled – and play the least, I think.

The race was a little further off. I do love the asura though, and they took the top. Charr and norn were a bit higher than I’d expect though. Still, not bad, for me at least.

I am the same. Melee ranger is about the most fun I’ve had, closely followed by Guardian.

Highly inaccurate for me profession wise, dead on race wise. It gave me top three Ranger Mesmer Ele … when Mesmer is my top and the other two at the bottom (I have at least one 80 of each profession, I’ve given them all a fair go). But race wise it nailed me at Human-Sylvari-Norn-Charr-Asura. They’re all fun but most of my alts are the first two.
