Guild Wars 2

I suppose I made a terrible mistake, but well… I want to ask anyway. I bought the game and received the free armor. There were 3 options and I selected Krytan, but now it says that ‘Armor class unusable by your profession’. Any workaround?

Roll a character that has a medium armor profession and use the armor on them.

Ok, jackaljag… I thought the game would detect my toon’s professions and give me an armor according to it. Wishful thinking. Oh, well…

You could try contacting support and asking them if they can change it for you.

I don’t know if they will or not, but the way you expected it to work is exactly how it should work (with a note that other options are available to other professions) and it’s Anet’s fault that it doesn’t.

Open a Support ticket. Worse that can happen is they say “no”.

I suspect they might let you re-pick which armor you get (if you open a support ticket). That’s one of the few areas they refund – when you pay $$ and got the wrong thing.

the problem with only showing the armor with weight that your character uses is that it’s an account-wide gift; all of your characters can use it (well, only one can equip it, but all are able to use it before you bind it). It does say ‘this armor is unusable by this profession’, but it’s not super-clear.
