I know you can trade or sell the blue prints but can you sell any of the other components or the finished item?

The reason I ask is I don’t want one for myself, but I don’t want to delete the blades shards I’m getting if I could use them to make one of the components or the finished blade pack and then give or sell it to someone who wants it.

All the back pieces are accountbound when created, so you cant trade them.

Since you’re getting the mats, its not really hard to make the back piece, i would make it and bank it… u never know when you’re going to need a jetpack with spider legs!

Except the shards are account bound.

That’s why I was wondering if there’s a step further along the process which isn’t. I have quite a few guild members who are working on making the back pack and I’d like to help them out. I know sometimes putting things in the Mystic Forge unbinds them and I was hoping this would be one of those times.

If only they were tradeable … it would be so much easier to make one of every color.

Not sure it would be much of a win for the sellers, maybe the early ones.

The back pieces up till exotic are pretty easy to make.
fine: 2 hours in la for the blueprints, one hour farming the iron
Masterwork: 0 hours in LA (you got enough shards from farming the blueprints) 1 hour farming the iron
Rare: 0 hours in LA (still got enough shards from farming the blueprints), 1 hour farming mithril (and if using a guide like gw2nodes.com you also get enough orichalcum).
Exotic: 2 hours in LA to get another stack of shards

thes are all account bound, so whereever you stop, you can use it for an alt. on top of that you can easily get the other events items needed to be ready for ascended, even if you need to level your crafting or get mats.

So my advise, get as many exotic ones as you can for your alts.

You don’t even need to farm for the blueprints, they’re down to under 2 silver for each part on the TP. But you do need the shards.

Not sure it would be much of a win for the sellers, maybe the early ones.

It would be better than nothing. At the moment even junk items are more worthwhile than blade shards to me.

All the backpieces are account-bound when you craft them. Strangely enough, they remain this way even after you pick the stats for them (ignore the warning message that claims choosing stats soul-binds it, it’s wrong.. I tried it on the exotic one today and was able to transfer it between chars). So I guess you can trust dulfy.net on this, all the backpieces will remain account-bound.
