Hi all,

I have some blue and yellow items in my bags that I seem unable to salvage and also unable to sell. When i click on the salvage kit, it wont allow me to salvage these items, and when I go to a merchant, the items don’t appear in the sell window.

Do I just throw them away? Why am I unable to both not sell and not salvage these items? It seems like a poor decision on Arena net’s part and a waste of bag space.

Probably soul bound items that you acquired during the level up process. Toss them. Perhaps they can be used in the Mystic Forge, but I am not certain about that.

You probably got them from a karma merchant, WvW vendor or as level up rewards. All those things can’t be salvaged or sold to stop players (easily) turning badges, karma and XP into gold.

Check if you can throw them in the Mystic Forge. Some you can, some you can’t. If you can’t then you should just delete them.

It would have been nice to be able to sell those items you get from leveling up even if it’s only for 1 copper.

Also, as no one else mentioned it, make sure the items aren’t in an Invisible bag, as those are designed to block selling/salvaging things you want to keep.

Also don’t throw them away. If you can’t salvage them, then use the mystic forge. This will give you a item back, sometimes a very good item, but never the less better then nothing. For example at lvl 70 something you get 4 kittenty exotics with stats that noone uses, save those and go to the mystic forge and if lucky you might get something good out of that. Sometimes you don’t get a good item, but there might be a rune on the item that you can salvage and sell for many gold.
