I’m trying to record some of my game play, but none of the video recording software is working…

I’ve tried Bandicam, Fraps, and nVidia ShadowPlay that comes with my video card. None of them work… I can see the FPS counters appearing in game, but hot keys to record never work. I used to play RIFT for a bit, and can tell you that both Fraps and ShadowPlay worked.

Anyone experienced anything similar? This is driving me nuts.

I use the LoiLo Game Recorder. Works perfectly well, even on rather weak systems.

you can try OBS. open broadcaster, open source and free. works very well to record. not sure your issue though as i use fraps and have no problem..

I also use Nvidia ShadowPlay and it works flawlessly for me when recording GW2 footage. I’m not sure why it wouldn’t work for you. =(

If recording hotkeys don’t work, it may be due to starting the game in admin mode (as Administrator). The fix is to start GW2 as ordinary user and without elevated privileges.

Why is this so: any program that is running in admin mode in foreground doesn’t let other programs not in admin mode “steal” keypresses like hotkeys. It’s a security feature, so non-admin programs cannot inject keypresses in admin-mode programs.

I am wondering if you ever found a solution for Shadowplay. Mine is set to manual recording, and the hotkey will work for about 3 recordings. After that, pressing the hotkey gets me the green light with a red line through it. No clue why it suddenly stops working. Sometimes turning Shadowplay off and back on works, but it’s so tedious. Web searches only bring up the same complaint with none of the solutions working.
