Cash shop Question
Short story: for all your characters.
Anything you get is unlocked in your wardrobe and can be used by any character.
- Most ‘skins’ require you to spend “transmutation charges” to apply them after the first time.
- Outfits are always free to apply, but they are all or nothing — you can’t mix and match (although you can hide parts).
- A few skins that you earn (rather than buy) are free to apply.
Transmutation charges drop often in reward tracks for PvP/WvW, for map completion, and a variety of other sources.
You can read more on the wiki:
If I buy a style from the cash shop, is it only for that one character? Or can it be worn by other characters that you own. Also for the ultimate bundle that comes with all the stuff that you get, is it only for one character too?
Depends.
Outfits can be worn by all characters; buying one will unlock it in your Outfit tab in the Hero panel ( H -> Equipment -> Outfits ). They are like costumes you can toggle on/off, and they do not have any armor weight restrictions. Your 600 pound Norn Warrior could waltz around in a wedding outfit, for example. Outfits also don’t require a transmutation charge to apply to a piece of armor.
Backpack items like the Fire Quiver Backpack or the Scruffy backpack that’s currently on sale can also be worn by all characters, as long as they are wearing a backpack already or you equip the backpack straps that come with the package. Once you’ve used up the ‘free’ skin that comes with the package, further applications of that skin will require a transmutation charge to apply the look to another backpack.
There are also several sets of armor skins on the cash shop. They are usually named something like “Primeval Heavy Armor Skin” or “Profane Light Armor Skin”. Like the backpacks, the package contains the full set of skins needed to apply the look to a full set of armor. They can also be mixed: you could, for example, wear Zodiac Heavy Armor Skin boots and Primeval Heavy Armor Skin gloves. Buying, for example, the Primeval Heavy Armor Skin set will unlock those skins in your wardrobe, after which all of your heavy armor characters can use them, as long as you have transmutation charges. Just make sure that you buy the skin set with the correct armor weight. Light Armor classes ( Mesmer, Ele, Necro ) cannot use heavy or medium armor skins, Heavy Armor classes ( Warrior, Guardian, Revenant ) cannot use light or medium skins, and Medium Armor classes ( Ranger, Engineer, Thief ) cannot use light or heavy skins.
Finally, there are several skins that can be applied to armor of any weight: Lawless Boots, Chaos Gloves, Xera’s Mask, and so on.
By Ultimate Bundle, I assume you mean the Ultimate Edition that contains the Heart of Thorns expansion? If so, everything in that package is account-wide. The Rhytlock mini and the HoT glider can be used by all characters you have, the gems will be added to your cash shop balance, the finisher will be unlocked for all characters, etc.

Any item you purchase is ‘usually’ acount bound. As for armor and weapon skins, they unlock in your wardrobe, and you get the skin object which you can consume, meaning you get one free charge.
Many items in the gem store are multiweight, meaning heads, shoulders etc usually come in light, medium AND heavy form. But when you buy a full set of armor it pays to pay attention what armor class they belong to, as full sets do tend to have a weight class restriction
And for reference, here’s a list of weights according to the profs that use them:
Heavy: Warrior, Guardian, Revenant
Medium: Engineer, Thief, Ranger
Light: Necromancer, Elementalist, Mesmer
Purchasing a skin set (e.g. Krytan Medium Skin) unlocks all six individual pieces with one free application of each (future applications cost transmutation points).
Purchasing an outfit (e.g. Crystal Savant Outfit) adds the outfit to the respective category under Appearance tab (initial tab in the Hero panel) and can be hidden/shown/swapped free of charge.
Like above, there’s also individual pieces you can buy as well that unlock for the backpiece or for all weights (e.g. Xera’s Mask, Chaos Gloves, Bunny Ears*).
Purchased skins are stored in the Account Wardrobe and can be used on any of your account’s characters (clarifying).
(*The Bunny Ears are a season-specific rotation but added for example purposes.)
Part of the [PORT] mystical tour – “Marilee Mangletooth.” What main?
Something something Autechre fanatic.
Thank you everyone!
