Changing Order(Priory, Whispers, Vigil), Big Issue
Ill just note theres a thing called transmutation stones. Lets to take gear with the stats you want and merge them into a piece of gear with the looks you want. Lets you have gear you can stand to look at that also has the stats you want.
One upping SiNoS here. Use some transmutation stones.
you guys are completely missing the point.
the orders(whispers, priory, vigil) have vendors that sell gear with stats that are only good for certain professions. if you are not one of those professions you will not want that gear. without a way to see what gear you will have access to before joining you can easily make a mistake you will regret and end up being stuck with vendors with gear you dont want. i.e. people like you two joining for cosmetics will end up with stats that are either useless or not very desired by your profession. transmutation stones are not going to suddenly give you access to another orders vendors.
To be honest the gears stats are a joke. At 80 you can get gear with stats you customize to yourself for much cheaper. Fact of the matter is that stuffs mainly for appearance.
I joined the priory as a charr warrior but quickly found out that the vigil is the bashing and killing group. I pressed join the vigil and they said they look in libraries and books before fighting. Instant regret for big angry Charr warrior . The wiki said that “with a little effert” it is possible to change your order so please help if you can.

Yes the wiki says that but in game they flat say that this is a perma choice. So without gm intervention i dont think this can be changed.
There is gear with every stat combination at level 80. Doesn’t matter which one you join unless you are die-hard trying to represent your order, in which case, you made your choice based upon that in the first place.
As someone mentioned anyway, you can transmute the order gear appearance to gear with the stats you like. I don’t think this is an issue, pick which one appeals to you the most and have fun instead of hating the dialogue and questline options because you picked something due to future gear which doesn’t matter.
