Hello,
I have question about Orders in plot. Is it possible to change order if I already choosed Whispers and i want to change to the Vigil ? I read on the gw2 wiki that it is possible to change “with little effort” .

Hum well in game it says the choice is perma. But wiki says the exact opposite. Might submit a support ticket to find out for sure unless a dev wouldent mind posting here.

As far as i’m aware it’s permanent. The link shows the information quoted from 2010 so maybe you can’t change. Dev needed :P

Or maybe you need to finish your storyline to the end first then an option will show up. Either way, none of those people who already finished the storyline missions are posting here and sharing their experience, so “it remains to be seen” for now.

Well, if someone will finish a plot it would be nice if he/her could update this topic about changing orders.

Sadly im stuck at the moment. Realized i the whole reason i was having issues was i was trying to do a story quest 7 levels higher than me lol. Wondered why i was being pushed back. But if i manage to finish before anyone updates this ill post. Currently got 20 levels to go.

I know that at higher quest levels you stop being a single order and instead become part of the pact that all 3 make (as second in command). Whether or not this influences your ability to purchase the other orders cultural armor I’m not sure.

I am finished with the story; I haven’t found anyway or have had any option doing-so to switch orders. I would definitely love the ability to though.

I like the Vigil armor better for my character, too. Since cosmetics are the real carrot in GW2, I’d hate to have sticking to roleplay punished by never getting the look that I want.

A game should encourage roleplay, not metagaming and looking up armor sets ahead of time.

I guess this is because they said it will be possible to RESET or Replay Story Mode in same char, then that will let you have the chance to play with all 3.

I am also curious about being able to either redo my entire personal story or being able to gain access to the other orders vendors.

This has been a hot topic on few different fourms and it would be nice if the Dev’s would comment on this.

I don’t think that is in currently. However I would not know as I have not completed the game yet story yet. If you have a source for that we would have a idea on what type of timeframe we we are looking at to get this feature.

They may have made it like that so you have incentive to create and play multiple characters. Just a thought? That’s definitely what I plan on doing just to get the other story lines.

I do plan to do this! However I want the vigil armor on the character I already made and rolled Whispers with. I like staying in character, but it’s how my character looks that I’m going to be seeing for years down the road.

I like the Whispers armor the best. I dunno why you guys like Vigil…I don’t like it at all

I’m glad it is! Hopefully devs respond to this after they stabilize their infrastructure. Or go ahead and do it now with all the bankroll I’m sure they’re making!

Yeah, it could be nice if someone from Dev’s could say something in that case. Here is quite a lot ppl interested in this topic.

It is possible to change “with little effort”…

A lot of stuff within GW2 and over multiple characters on each account are shared resources. I figure this, by creating a second character and leveling it and going with a different order from your first characters order, it will unlock the order for your initial character as well. My main is 80, completed Order of Whispers, I have been inside the Vigil before and am unable to buy that order’s armor as I am not associated with them. So I have currently been progressing with my second character and doing Vigil to see what happens.

It would help, at least for armor, if they made the order armor not soulbound on purchase, but accountbound. I’ll hop over to the suggestions forum…

Hello players, i got message from support about order:

“The choice of your character’s order is an important one, it directs where a good deal of your personal story will take place. More importantly, however, your choice is permanent and non-reversible. After you’ve, chosen an order, I’m afraid that you are stuck with that discussion. We don’t have a way of changing it for you.”

I wish i could have even change a armors.. I like Vigil armor more than Whispers :|

Just level 3 alts and you will do each of the orders I think is currently the only way :P

Yeah but i cant have Vigil armor on every character… If u chooses Whispers u can wear ONLY Whispers armors :|

If its a be all-end all, I’d recreate the character now. And not bother getting any further in the story. Or it may continue to bug you as you only get farther and farther towards legendary items/100% world completion/legendary weapons, etc.

Too late for me to recreate my character! Didn’t realise the armour sets were locked until I was already 80 ;’(

You could train up an alt, unlock the armor vendor, buy armor and transmute it over for you first character, right?
That would cost a lot of gold though.

^ Aren’t the items you buy at the order soulbound on aquire? So wouldn’t the transmuted item also then be soulbound to the alt.

As far as I know, transmuting removes the soulbound characteristic (At least it works for the ‘starter’ stuff like hoods/pauldrons).
