I have 2 characters that I no longer play who were in exotic MF armor. If I change stats on these items do they become accountbound and soulbound on use? Or will they still be soulbound to those characters?

Anything that was soulbound will remain soulbound.
Selecting a stat will actually making the item soulbound as well.

You can preserve the skins by putting them on low end white items and putting those in the bank for another character to pick up (they may still say soulbound, but are actually now account bound). You cannot save the exotic stats for alts, though.

Can’t you trade the item to another character BEFORE you select the stats?

(not if it was soulbound before the MF removal…..so no).

Thank you for the info! Guess those items must stay on alts I’m not using. Or I guess I could salvage for dark matter or toss them into the forge. My guess is salvaging exotics on average would tend to make more cash?

Tossing Exotics in the Mystic Flusher is the best way to get Precursors (I’ve been told) but from the RNG numbers I’ve seen, it’s a huge gamble.

Salvaging them would be a sure bet on some cash.
