Can someone direct me to a “Getting Started Guide” or a YouTube video that explains in detail the various effects of answering the questions during Character Creation?!

For instance…What does it do for a warrior to choose the “Spangenhelm” over the “Cap Helm” or “Shoulders”? What stats does this choice affect?

Same things for other questions (Charm, Dignity, ferocity) and other professions (Ranger, Elementalist, Thief, etc).

This is a good base to choose.

The profession-oriented question affects a character’s starting armor (or pet for rangers). – purely aesthetic
The personality-oriented question affects the conversational options that NPCs provide. – ferocity, charm, dignity
The race-oriented questions directly affect a character’s personal storyline. – determines your first two personal storyline quest chains

That helped a little…but there’s a lot of details I can’t find.

Little things like:

Is one race better at being an Elementalist than another?

Should I consider one personality-oriented answer over another because of a future quest line of ability?

I’ve been reading through as much as possible on the GW2 Wiki…but some of it still leaves me with questions.

All races are exactly the same when it comes to professions, there’s no advantage of picking one over the other. Also, the personality oriented answers determine which quest chain you’d get at first, but doesn’t change which abilities (or AFAIK rewards) you can get.

The difference between different races (other than starting area and cosmetics) are the racial skills:
