Character Health
But What If It changes in that zone?
Maybe one of your armor with vitality stats is broke. When you die, there is a chance your armor(s) will be damaged. When you damaged all your armor and you died again, there is a chance one of your armor will be broken. You cannot enjoy the stats provided by a broken armor. To restore damaged armor, you need to find a repair NPC to repair them.
As far as I know, there is no death penalty when you die (other than a chance that your armor will be damaged)
Your stats changes with the zones, not the maps. Which means even if you’re still in the same map, the level scaling would be different for each area in the map. When you move from one area to another in the same map, your stats will scale in a different rate. Note that this only down-scales you, so your stats won’t increase when you go to a higher level area/map, unless in the WvWvW, where everyone gets up-scaled to 80.
Your health and stats will change between zones of different levels as your downlevelled to suit that zone.
Yor stats won’t change because your armour is just damaged, they will change when they are so badly damaged that they turn red, then you may find yourself partially naked.
“But What If It changes in that zone?”
Your stats will also change in PvE depending on how well your server is doing at WvW, press “B” to find out what your boosts are.
So even in the same zone, at the same level, with the same gear and setup, your stats will vary slightly, higher if your server is doing well in WvW, lower is it isn’t.
You will also notice when you gather materials, that’s also effected by how well your server is doing in WvW, if your doing well, you will sometimes get 2 gathers at the same tree or plant.
There are no real “Death Penalties” apart from having the waypoint cost if nobody ressurects you, and possible repair costs of damaged armour.
