Q:
Character Slot Limit?
A:
Would like an official amount, not just guesses, please.
If it is possible that a developer could answer this for me, that would be great, thanks.
Thank you to those of you who answered though.
If you want an “official” response, wiki is your friend.

Notes
There is a limit of 64 character slots on a Guild Wars 2 account.
As to the chance of a Dev answering an idle curiosity question, that ranges from slim to none.
It’s something like 60. Someone reported having 44 at one time, but a dev said 60 a bit later.
And all who stood by and did nothing, who are they to criticize the sacrifices of others?
Our blood has bought their lives.
Yeah, that is something you should not worry, you can make every class with every race and still have a good window to create new toons.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
63~64

I read it’s 64. Someone actually got that many and posted about it cuz he wanted more.
why on earth would you even need 64?

Believe it or not, if you station 60 of those 64 on top of Karka Hive, just log on gather 3, switch server gather 3 more, switch 3 more. You get 9 × 60 = 540 orichalcum ores PER DAY. That’s more than 40g per day (takes about 2 mins of loading time + mining, so about 2 hours for 40g). Do that for 100 days (3 months) and you get 4,000g. More than enough to break even the cost.
Go make 60 alts then i dare you to level so many alts , even with craft and not going mad in the process.
I actually have 21 chars (all lv 80 since June), so with a little modification to the method above, I can quickly get 300 orichalcum ores, 126 ancient logs, 12 passion flowers, 420 iron or platinum ores per day in less than 4 hours. That’s about 36g. And no I don’t farm across all four maps, just 6 ores from frostgorge and about 9-12 from southsun per char. Switching char /server is actually faster than zoning .

You get 5 free slots. To buy 59 slots at full price is 47,000 gems at reduced price is 35,400 gems. To buy the top end you need at today’s exchange 4000 gold, for the bottom end you need roughly 3000 gold. Really don’t see the 40g per day being worth paying 4000g. If you bought gems with real cash you would have several thousand g anyway. This does not take into account you need to be lvl 60 to mine ori.
Well obviously one wouldn’t want to buy 60 slots and level up each one to lv 60 just for the sake of standing there on top of southsun and switch servers to farm 9 ori ore per day XD. I just point out the extra “bonus”. Also after 100 days which you make 4000g, do that for another year or two and this extra bonus will net you: one year 300 days (underestimate for taking into account of “break” days), total 12,000g per year and in 5 years, this extra bonus net you 60,000g
I don’t see this game alive for 5 years unless they do something good about it , like fixing bugs , revamping fractal dredge , better living story , no more scarlet , and a better personal story ending o:

Chances are fairly remote that you will get a direct responce to a question that is really not a problem.
I never use wiki as an “Official” source for anything, as it can be altered by anyone at any time.
However, 64 is more than enough for me… (odd that it’s 65 or 60, 64 seems so precise)
Anyway, you are most likely correct and I doubt a developer will answer something, so I will have to suffice with the answers here by you lovely people.
Thank you!.
