Guild Wars 2

Hey, kind of hit a point of diminishing returns in Guild Wars 2 and thought it might be fun to try the original. I see their were a lot of deals back before Guild Wars 2 was released, but not quite as much these days. Anyone have any tips for getting into Guild Wars and it’s expansions as cheaply as possible?

The only recommendation I have is Amazon, or Steam.

If you can find it in an actual shop it might be cheaper that way.

Some of them (I know GAME in the UK definitely work this way) use a semi-automated system to set prices and it doesn’t always work well. It raises or lowers prices based on how many copies sell and doesn’t always accurately factor in how many are actually available. So if a store only gets a couple of copies of a game a month (which happens with older games) the price will keep dropping even though they’re actually selling each copy relatively quickly.

When I used to work there I got Lord of the Rings Online Collectors Edition for less than £1 because we only had one copy and it was always either in the stock room or on the floor under a display where no one would notice it. (And after I bought it the same system sent us 3 more copies and bumped the price back up to £5 because suddenly it was selling again.)

could also do a search using sites like price runner. It looks at online sites within your country and outside and lists them. They also have a rating for if the suppliers are known or not.
