i play an engineer who is invested in huntsman and leatherworking and i thought it would be fun to try out the chef discipline. but i heard you have to pay 40 silver to change disciplines. so my question is this, is it a good idea to make a new character whos sole purpose is to craft chef items and transfer those items to my main character through the bank? would some high level cheft items be soulbound or something like that?

There are a few annoying soulbound on acquire crafted items but those are not crafted by Chefs. I am not aware of any soulbound chef items. You could also buy an additional crafting license. I have them on separate characters.

I like the convenience of having all the crafting on one character. Any time new recipes come out I don’t have to worry about who has the right profession.

I have the two additional crafting licenses so I can have 4 at one time and really I don’t change them too often.

As far as I remember, nothing you make as a chef is soulbound. Perhaps a few account bound items, but not soulbound.
