I know some cooking items were changed from buy to drops, but have any of you noticed how MUCH butter and chocolate is dropping in some areas? Gendarren Field pirates seem to love the stuff. I just opened 4 bags of pirate loot and got 8 bars of chocolate and some butter.

Bet we see some fat pirates before long. Maybe the drop rate should be looked at?

They’re not getting fat because you’re killing them before they have a chance to eat them..

It’s a pile of Elonian protection magic, mixed with a little monk training,
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.

They’re looking for flour so they can discover the chocolate chip cookie recipe, and someone told them it only drops from players. That’s why they’re always trying to kill you.

I do think that ANet over compensated for removing a staple ingredient like butter from the karma vendor. I would have moved it over a tab next to the flour, but I suppose the other crafting skills all require some dropped item for their zero level recipes. Cooks could just buy all the ingredients for bread and dough balls. Of course we had to play to get the karma, and we don’t get the refining recipes… wow, this balancing stuff is trickier than it seems.

I have accumulated a veritable butter… erm… mountain over the last few days.

I have no idea what to do with the stuff until I decide to “go chef”, something which is about 120 places below where my main currently is on her “to do” list.

My alts are all placeholders for names I couldn’t live without and aren’t getting much game time so they may well be potential chefs but while my main is getting all my attention we may never find out.

I haven’t even considered selling it at the moment as it seems to drop so frequently, I imagine the TP is awash with buttery goodness.

I hope it doesn’t go off in the bank…
