Guild Wars 2

A friend and I are coming back to play. He is going to be playing a thief. I was wondering what class goes well/compliments a thief well. Just looking for some suggestions.

Guardian can help ease the learning process.

I’m (guardian) playing with my friend, who is thief and we are doing great. Guardian fits pretty much everything. Before that I used to play necro with another friend playing thief and to be honest, that was an amazing experience. Another interesting duo I tried is mesmer+thief.

My vote goes for… guardian. But if you are not really into its playstyle then you might give mesmer a try. Really, thief + mesmer duo is awesome.

I’ll also have to go with Guardian, makes everything smooth sailing.
Or a Ranger if you want less smooth and more range.

Guardian = defensive option, makes things nice and easy
Ele = offensive option, stacking might/fury will really help a thief who’s capabilities in that area are quite limited without building around it, which sacrifices far too much for the gain imo.
