Q:
I know ArenaNet’s stance on Macros is generally "If it does more than one action per keypress it’s frowned upon", essentially. But, for those of us who spend like, ~400k karma at a time on lockboxes, would making a doubleclick-spam macro be something that would get me in trouble?
-[edit]-
Specification time.
The macro I have tested just to see if it works (and have not used since) requires me to not only hold my mouse over the item (because all it does is spam left click) but also requires me to hold down the button with the clicks attached. I cannot use it to automate anything to the point I can get up. Functionally, and literally, it’s no different than my doubleclicking myself, I’m just moving the doubleclick function to a button.

I actually have something like this on my mouse, which is basically “when held, rapid fire left mouse button”. The only time I use it is for buying things in quantity from vendors, or selling junk to the vendors, haha.
I would like to know how legal this is as well.
From what I have seen around the boards, anytime you start playing with macros you might be ridding a thin line. If you want an absolute answer as opposed to answers like mine or others that are based on things seen and heard then I suggest you contact support. This serves two key purposes. It gives you the correct answer from the source and gives you documentation should something go wrong:

I just sent in a request. If I get a non-canned response, I’ll post back.
After some back and forth, Essentially all they told me is what we already now. They worded what they said very carefully to not tell me anything of use.
"Thank you for updating us with that issue.
Like we said before, any program that is not authorized by NCSoft or ArenaNet is indeed frowned upon. We cannot approve nor guarantee that your account will not be suspended, as we have various methods of detecting automatic gameplay. These include macros, and do violate our stance as you’ve previously mentioned.
We hope this can solve your doubt.
Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
Thanks again!
