In the quest “Code Breaker” when you are supposed to break the code, do you just click on the answers until you get the right one or do you have to make the right choice the first guess? Really wish there would have been some way to figure out the code, thought it was going to be a nice puzzle.

I thought it was a puzzle too…I even re did the dialog to make sure I hadn’t missed anything…I tried to “interpret” the books text but my first answer was wrong, it let me choose again after it said I was wrong. I suppose the multiple choice was a game method to mimic a little guesswork in the decoding process.

Ok, thanks! Quite disappointed that we don’t really have to attempt to decode the message!

I think this quest is not logic and confusing. You expect to decode something. My first thought when I found the book was – hey did I miss something in the dialogues? How shall I go on from here. This quest really needs some pollishing!

For what it’s worth: It can be solved with the use of the game theory. Two answers feature the same location and two answers say that the weapon is ready. One answer has this location and says the weapon is ready – this is the right one. Got it on first try.

My take on it is that, although it’s not a “true bug”, a butterfly could be seen to be a bug (linking to underbug) and the phrase “take flight” could suggest that the weapon is prepared. Not the best working, but hey, I got the right answer.

And the Dredge can read the same written text you can.

Yeah…

Yeah, Dredge, who are blind, reading….

I solved it by the reference of the bottomless eyes and the target being blind. Just a guess, mind you, my first one. I wondered what would have happened if I’d chosen one of the others. It would have just said I was wrong, eh?

Yeah, if you choose the wrong answer, it just says you’re wrong and lets you try again until you get it.

I had the same problem, worrying that I had missed something about the code in the dialogue. My first guess had been the one where the target was “awake” because it sounded like the character’s encounter with the pirate queen had “awakened” an emotional response in her that she hadn’t felt in a while. Guess I read into it too much :P
