Guild Wars 2

Sometimes when I fight against a specific creature, Lets say the Jotun. Im a Ranger and use a longbow btw.

There is one things Im not getting though, when I fire away at the jotun, for whatever reason it runs past me and attack me from behind, Like where Im standing, he literally just runs past me and attacks me from behind, he is not doing any charge attack or nothing and this has happened with many different mobs as well. But I really dont know if its meant to be this way. I mean wouldnt it make more sense for the Jotun to rush at me and bash my face in the first chance it got? like 30 % of the time, they run past me if I stand still.

Some creature I can understand, them moving around and trying to get the advantage on you, especially creatures with the ability to fly. I dont know, Is it just me or is it intended to be this way, Its not a large issue but just wondered that I might as well ask the community on what its all about.

I have never recognised this behaviour when I was doing things solo. I have seen this a lot when other people where around and the foe was attacking another player. Maybe they are going after your pet?
