I may have been missing something in-game, but I really cant’ seem to figure out what these do or how they interact with other skills.

Are there any resources that cover this in detail?

Basically when any skill listed as a “combo finisher”, ie. the mesmer magic bullet is a combo finisher: projectile, passes through an area which is currently under the effect of a skill which is listed as a “combo field”, so the mesmer skill feedback is combo field: ethereal, that attack will then have an additional effect based on the type of finisher and the type of field. In the example case it would be that it applies a stack of confusion.

EDIT: Quote: Finishers can only interact with one initiator at a time.

Whenever a combo is created, a notification will show on the player’s screen, indicating the effect that was generated by the combo.
