Coming back , Need a Build for Solo Pve
I immensely enjoyed leveling Thief and Ele, for different reasons.
Thief is all about speed and single target damage. You whittle groups down.
Ele is all about AoE and conditional damage, aka lighting as many critters on fire and watch them burn.
Haven’t rolled a rev yet so I can’t compare the play style.

I realize this is not related to your inquiry but from your post, it sounds like you are planning on making a second rev to level? Why not try a different class? Its a good idea to learn about each class through personal experience. Also, playing the same class all the time tends to increase people’s burnout rate and boredom with the game from what I have seen and experienced. But then its not for me to say what class to play, just my thoughts on the matter.
Anyways, in regards to your question, I would check out the website Metabattle for builds. Keep in mind though what is posted there is typically intended to offer the most efficient (highest dps) builds for pve and pvp and as such they are not all-purpose “practical” builds for all situations. It is just a good place to start with and then modify the build to suit your needs and playing style. I would also suggest checking out the profession section of the forum. I think there are sticky threads for all of the professions for builds where you can get some ideas.

@silvatar .. well I am not 100% sure it will be a second rev, but I avoided the meta for the reasons you specified, they are to specific and aimed around certain gear specs etc,, which I don’t have anything ascended for an example. I went ahead and made the new rev doesn’t mean Ill stick with it. thought about another warrior , or guardian but each have their own downfalls. I know I will not do another Necro, I don’t like depending on meat shields etc .
@behelah I had fun on a thief but as you said more a single target thing, trouble with HOT content and especially when you get into season 3 you always have a ton of mobs on you., and eles feel glassy to me. but then I never mastered an eles rotation ,
Thief is a great solo class and very strong against large groups of enemies. They can deal a lot of damage on up to 5 targets very quickly, heal themselves in the process, and escape to safe distance before enemies have much of a chance to react.
I’m primarily a solo player myself, so I prioritize unusual things like being able to solo more champions or take on ridiculous numbers of enemies at once.
You might give this build a try if you have daredevil unlocked and some berserker and/or marauder gear available. A mix of the two is probably a good idea for solo thief players.
