I am not very good at jumping puzzles. But I like to complete the monthly achievements. I have done 4 jumping puzzles, three on Sunday and one on Monday. Sunday I completed Demongrub pits, The Collapsed Observatory, and Swashbuckler’s Cove. After completing these the monthly showed 3/10.

Last night I finished Fawcett’s Bounty and I received credit for the achievement under the Puzzle tab. However, the monthly achievement total for jumping puzzles remains at 3/10. Shouldn’t my total be 4/10? If this puzzle does not count for the monthly achievement are there other puzzles that also do not count? I do not enjoy these but I am going to do them just the same. But it would sure help to get credit for the efforts I have made.

Thanks for your assistance and any answers you may provide me.

I have observed that the monthly completion credit tracks a character entering the jumping puzzle, not completing it. This is very easy to test – take a character through one of Lion’s Arch’s three JPs, enter the non-overflow Lion’s Arch, and start the puzzle again. You should see the monthly get credited twice, each time around the entrance of the puzzle.

With specific reference to Fawcett’s Bounty, I’m not sure about whether it’s simply not specifically counting toward the monthly achievement. While testing the mechanics of this section of the monthly, I completed it in a single day by simply repeating the Lion’s Arch puzzles across multiple characters and multiple instances, so I can’t check whether that puzzle is not crediting at all.

The good news is, as I indicated in the previous paragraph, you can get credit for the same puzzle by simply completing it in another instance (applicable only to the 3 LA JPs), on another character, or after the daily achievement resets. Therefore you should still be able to easily complete this portion of the monthly.

The trigger points are very specific. It is possible to enter a JP without getting credit, if you do something a bit odd. For example, at the entrance to the Shark’s Maw, you can jump around/past the opening into the pool and miss it.

As Blueshield notes, there are ways to (ahem) ensure that you can complete the monthly achievement.

John Smith: “you should kill monsters, because killing monsters is awesome.”

Indeed, given that completion credit for each puzzle resets with the daily, and that in theory this portion of the monthly would be completable by simply repeating the same jumping puzzle once per day for 30 out of the 31 days in January, I petitioned that they rename this achievement to “Every Day I’m Puzzling.”

I haven’t received a reply.

necropost a little, done 3 LA puzzles, and 3 at Diessa plateau and one in Fen’s, then doing them again on the next day – got +1 to monthly only for Fen’s i think, so 6 puzzles gone in vain. Is it ok? Do i really need finish\enter new puzzles for monthly?

(It is unfortunate that this got resurrected as the task at the time the original post was made was different than this monthly. Hopefully it does not confuse many people.)

Are you saying that you got credit for the Fen JP twice? I have not gotten any credit for doing a JP again, but I have seen some people say that you can get it.
