Computer Restart
Perhaps the Gigabyte forums would be helpful.
Good luck.
Maybe your PSU has aged.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
I tried asking here because i tested with some other games(Mortal Kombat X) and didnt had this problem so i thought i could be something related to GW2 but thanks for the advice.
The infinite amount of information we’re missing is preventing us from giving you credible advice on your problem. This should be in the tech support forum too.
1. Is anything overclocked – even from the factory? GW2 has problems with overclocked harware.
2. Can your system boot up to a normal stable environment or does it just restart when you launch gw2?
3. Defrag your hard drive – is gw2 on the same drive as your operating system?
4. Run checkdisk on your hard drives
5. In your gw2 directory, there is a .log file, post it here.
6. If you’re good enough with a computer, you can check your system event logs for faults. Start Menu → type: events → hit enter → look for red marks on the same time your system crashed. recommend clearing them all before testing to make sure everything is current.
7. Is your PSU powerful enough for your graphics card?
8. Your english is better than native speakers, we don’t care so stop apologizing, but good for you for knowing more than one language
1 – I’m certain that is factory overclocked
2 – Used to take a long time to boot before i updated the BIOS, now it boots normaly and it seems to restarts only with GW2 ( Tested with GRID 2, Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Mortal Kombat X and DX11 Heaven Benchmark)
3 – I Formatted the system hard drive and GW2 stays on the other partition of it(same HD tho)
4 – Done it with both partitions and didnt had any issues
5 – Just found out that i dont have the GW2 folder on my documents and it doesnt seems to appear even taking SS in game, any way to make it appear?
6 – Got totally lost but as far as i went didnt found anything “red”
7 – it is said that it has Real 500w and both the GTX 570 and GTX 970 says that this is the minimum required, altought the PSU is kinda old
8 – Thanks! I apoligized because i dont want to make even more dificcult to understand the problem because i cant be clear of what i’m saying ._.
Glad for the help

what windows version are you using??
It is important to distinguish the difference between hardwarefailure (a real reboot most commonly caused by overheating or voltage issues) and a BSOD-automated reboot.
In most windows versions you can change the default setting to not automaticly reboot on BSOD.
Right click “my computer”
Click “properties”
Click on “advanced system settings” (left column)
Go to the tab “advanced” and click the third “settings” button (the one under “startup and recovery”)
Uncheck “automatilcy restart”
Now wait for the issues to arise.
If using windows 8 or newer you get a screen telling you (with a bad smiley) that your pc experienced an error. In older version you will get the infamous blue screen of death. Both can only resolved in pushing the power off button.
Is this the case then I recommend noting the error codes (can also be found in computer management under the logfiles) and searching them for possible causes. It can still be faulty hardware, but nothing like a voltage issue or a temperature issue.
If you still go straight to reboot, then it is very likely voltage or overheating. Make sure you check your critical equipment (GPU and CPU) by pressing your hand at the back of the pc where they are located (in case of a tower, this is the right side of the pc). If it is hot (not warm, but hot! a cat shouldn not find it comfortable) then you have an overheating issue. If it is warm or even cool then it is a voltage issue. In that case I give you a 90% chance that a new PSU will resolve the issue.

PSUs are “aging”. That means they don’t give the full power anymore after some years.
If that happens you simply may run into the problem that your PC shuts down or
reboots as soon as your hardware wants more power thany your PSU can deliver.
Since GW2 is very demanding on your hardware it will maybe reach that point
earlier than other programs.
What you can try is limit your FPS to 60 or even 30 and set down some other options
and look if it works longer then.

1. GW2 hates overclocked hardware, you may have to look up how to bring the clock speeds back down to reference levels with your graphics driver software – youtube can show you how to do this.
5. You put your gw2 folder on a different partition, the .log file is where the gw2.exe file is wherever you installed gw2.
Also, your screenshots are, by default, here:
USERPROFILE\Documents\Guild Wars 2\Screens
In that case I give you a 90% chance that a new PSU will resolve the issue.
I will agree with this post, assuming all the obvious things has been done (you didnt just plop in 570->970 right? Installing a new card always mean vacuuming the computer for drivers). That PSU… ugh… I can see by the fact I cant find any English text about it and that it has a blue fan and fancy box art that its not going to be all that good. Also it seems to be specced for two weak 12v lines – most PSUs went away from that years ago and did one very strong 12v line because 2 weak ones wasnt enough for modern graphics cards.
