It sounded very straight forward until my husband and I started talking it over and I think I have just confused myself.
I was unable to get a name I really wanted when the game frist went live. I chose a different name and moved on (this girl is now my main). A few months ago, I tried the name again on an alt and was happy to find it available, so the alt has been holding the name waiting for today.
My question is: Can I delete the little alt, log in my main and the name is immediately available when using the contract?
(I know it becomes available immediately under normal character creation because I do that often)
Since the name will become available upon deleting your character, renaming your main should allow you to use that name. I’ve reached this conclusion through reason, not evidence, so please don’t sue me or whatever for giving an incorrect answer
I believe names do remain “reserved” for 24 hours. However, I also believe it is tied to your account, so you should still be able to access the name, I would think.
Just a guess, though. Hopefully someone comes by who’s actually done it or knows for sure.

I know that names are useable for 24 hours after you delete a character under past conditions. My question is, will the contract re-name operate in the same way.
If it didn’t cost 800 gems, I’d try it with an alt whose name I didn’t care about one way or the other just to confirm. Can’t really spend 1600 gems on it, though.

im wondering why you didnt try it tho, you could always create again a lvl 1 char to reserve the name until available. or not?
